With 56 stores across France, Chronodrive is a top player in the country’s grocery drive-thru market. They’ve transformed shopping into a seamless experience with 30-minute click and collect service and two-hour home delivery.

In January 2026, Chronodrive took its customer relationships to the next level with the launch of Chronolovers, a new loyalty program. Designed with simplicity and transparency in mind, it rewards customers with free products, vouchers, and surprise gifts as they reach order milestones.

Launching with a richer communications strategy

For a launch this massive, Chronodrive needed a communication strategy that could do more than just announce the program. The campaign had to:

  • Clearly explain how the simple, milestone-based system worked.
  • Showcase the exciting and desirable rewards.
  • Drive customers to the new Chronolovers portal to get started.

To truly capture the excitement of the new program and make the rewards feel tangible, Chronodrive needed a channel with richer visual and interactive features.

Driving more loyalty program sign-ups with RCS

To meet the challenge, Chronodrive turned to Rich Communication Services (RCS). Having integrated Sinch RCS into its messaging strategy in June 2025, the brand already knew this channel’s power.

RCS transforms standard text messages into vibrant, interactive experiences with rich media, strong branding, and clickable action buttons.

Compared to traditional SMS, RCS offered three key advantages for the Chronolovers launch:

  • More room: An expanded character limit allowed for a detailed explanation of the program’s mechanics, reassuring customers of its simplicity.
  • Immersive visuals: High-quality images made the rewards feel more tangible and desirable, creating a more engaging and visually appealing message.
  • Direct action: An integrated, clickable call-to-action (CTA) button allowed customers to visit the Chronolovers site with a single tap.

Redefining engagement with RCS

The RCS campaign was a resounding success. By leveraging a dynamic and interactive channel, Chronodrive not only communicated the new program effectively but also saw a significant boost in customer engagement.

The campaign tripled the click-through rate compared to Chronodrive’s traditional SMS campaigns. The success has confirmed that RCS is a powerful tool for redefining customer engagement.

Looking ahead, Chronodrive plans to integrate RCS into automated, trigger-based loyalty campaigns and support major sales events with rich features like carousels.
