Symsoft Telecom Platform Achieves VMware Ready Status for Network Functions Virtualization

Symsoft AB, the operator division of CLX Communications AB (Publ) – XSTO:CLX, has announced that its Symsoft Telecommunications Platform has achieved VMware Ready™ status for Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV). This designation indicates that after a detailed validation process the Symsoft platform has achieved VMware’s highest level of endorsement, and can be found on the VMware Solution Exchange (VSX). The Symsoft Telecommunications platform virtualises many network functions in the areas of; Policy and Charging, Value Added Service, Fraud Prevention and Signalling Security (such as PCRF, OCS, SMSC, MMSC and Signaling Firewalls). Operators can deploy the platform and by enabling and combining these virtual applications can fulfil the promise of NFV – agility, reduced time to market and improved operational efficiency. “In embracing virtualisation and the concept of NFV, MNOs are able to accentuate the advantages provided in deployment, operations and life cycle management of communications solutions,” explains Leif Östling, Chief Technology Officer at Symsoft. “Symsoft is constantly innovating to provide our customers with a competitive edge. We put our customers first, we are passionate about our customers’ business needs, and we believe this approach is what differentiates Symsoft and enables us to help operators fulfil the promise of NFV. This certification signifies to operators that the Symsoft Telecommunications Platform and virtualised applications are interoperable in a VMware vCloud NFV environment,” Östling continues. “We are pleased that Symsoft qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has met specific VMware interoperability standards and works effectively with VMware infrastructure, which can speed time to value within customer environments,” said Gabriele Di Piazza, Vice President of Solutions, Telco NFV Group at VMware. The VMware Ready program is a co-branding benefit of the Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program that makes it easy for customers to identify partner products certified to work with VMware infrastructure. Customers can use these products and solutions to help lower project risks and gain cost savings over custom built solutions. With thousands of members worldwide, the VMware TAP program includes best-of-breed technology partners with the shared commitment to bring the best expertise and business solution for each unique customer need.
